11 Nights 12 Days Self Drive - South Central and Interior Alaska
May 15 through September 15, 2010
Day 1 Arrive in Anchorage. Rent a car. Visit the Anchorage Native Heritage Center, Alaska Zoo, or tee off under the midnight sun before capping the evening with broadway show. Overnight in an Alaska Best Anchorage B&B (Alaska House of Jade, Highland Glen Lodge).
Day 2 Anchorage - Denali (Healy)
Be sure to enjoy your gourmet breakfast before you start the day. Follow the Parks Hwy, visit the small historic town of Talkeetna and enjoy a Mt Mckinley flightseeing tour with glacier landing option. Onward to Healy. Overnight at Denali Touch of Wilderness B&B, Healy.
Day 3 Denali Nat'l Park
Denali National Park is home to Mt McKinley, North American's tallest peak. Take a full day guided tour to see sweeping landscapes and incredible wildlife. 2nd Night at Denali Touch of Wilderness B&B, Healy.
Day 4 Denali - Fairbanks
Enjoy a 2-hour drive north to Fairbanks - the gateway to Arctic Circle. Visit the world famous University of Alaska Museum of the North. Swing by the nearby Georgeson Botanical Garden and Large Animal Research Center to count the baby caribou. Try your hand at gold panning tour in the afternoon. Overnight at Fairbanks Dale and Jo Suites, Fairbanks.
Day 5 Fairbanks
Start the morning with the Riverboat Discovery along the Chena and Tanana Rivers. Or explore Creamers Field Bird Sanctuary with easy hiking trails, home of the Alaska Bird Observatory. Spend the afternoon in Chena Hot Spring, see the Aurora Ice Museum. If you prefer spend your afternoon at Pioneer Park with over 7 museums and 9 restaurants. Visit Santa Clause's hometown North Pole. See what Rudolph's up to in the sun season.

Take a guided Arctic Circle Bus Tour, crossing the legendary Yukon Rive., Observe the incredible Trans-Alaska pipeline and wildlife. 3nd Night with Dale and Jo View Suites, Fairbanks.
Day 6 Fairbanks - Mat-Su Valley (Palmer)
Take a morning drive southbound to Matanuska and Susitna Valley. Stop for wildlife along the Parks Hwy. Visit the Iditarod Headquarter in Wasilla and the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer. Overnight at Alaska Garden Gate B&B, Palmer.
Day 7 Palmer - Seward
Heading South and enjoy the drive along the Seward Hwy - National Scenic Byway and All America Road. Visit the North most Sealife Center, and Exit Glacier - one of the most accessible glaciers in Alaska. Overnight at Bear Lake Lodgings, Seward.
Day 8 Seward
Take a boat tour to Kenai Fjord National Park, and see glaciers, whales, and an amazing variety of marine wildlife such as-- puffins, seals, sea lions and otters. Wind down with a canoe ride right off the lake front yard of your B&B. 2nd Night with Bear Lake Lodgings, Seward.
Day 9 Seward - Cooper Landing - Homer
Drive through the Chugach Nat'l forest. Stop by Russian River, and Kanai Lake for a small hike. Travel along the world famous Kenai River. See the sparking glacier fed blue water. Onward west follow the Sterling Hwy. Drive south along the bluffs of Cook Inlet where beluga whales are not uncommon to see. At the end of the road, you will reach Homer, a bustling artist community and Halibut fishing capital of the world. Overnight at Halcyon Heights B&B, Homer.
Day 10 Homer
There is no better way to spend a half day in Homer than by taking a guided sea kayak trip in Kachemak Bay. Explore the Homer Spit with miles of beaches. Visit Homer's eclectic art galleries. Charter a fishing expedition. Hike the scenic trail to glacier lake. Escape to the paradise backcountry Halibut cove. 2nd Night at Halcyon Heights B&B, Homer.

Take the once in a life time trip - Fly a floatplane to Katmai National Park. Observe brown bears in their natural habitat. Few are disappointed at this special expedition.
Day 11 Homer - Anchorage
On your drive to Anchorage, stop for sightseeing. Check out the four Volcanos, the Russian Orthodox Church in Ninilchik, and Portage glacier. Eat lunch in Alyeska Resort. Complete the day in Anchorage. Overnight in an Alaska Best Anchorage B&B (Alaska House of Jade, Highland Glen Lodge B&B).
Day 12 Departure - Return to sweet Home.
